Big Hole in the House

I think the changes are getting pretty subtle, but today much more of the fence and retaining wall between our yard and the yard next door has been torn out. Also, there's a huge hole from the outside into the crawl space in our basement. Sweet.

Recently, the contractors discovered that our foundation was poured at the same time as that of the house next door, and that the original siding (over which the newer shingles were laid) was attached right across the property line, as if it were one house. We're not sure what that means for our remodel, but it's interesting. We are advised not to freak out, but it's way too late for that.
